IGNITE
ig·nite | \ ig-ˈnīt : to set in motion : SPARK
Funny, some things come full circle in such unexpected ways. To find myself back here, documenting my journey of self-discovery and my pursuit of authenticity, years later, yet in an entirely different capacity. Boundless IRL was created as a place to document my commitment to self-growth, to showcasing my true self, and giving my thoughts a voice in the world. I am excited to share how this platform is evolving as I embark on a new adventure and pursue the IGNITE program inspired by Majo Malfino, author of Break the Good Girl Myth. I launched myself into this initiative to IGNITE a creative passion and push myself outside the confines of comfort. Over the next 8 weeks, I will be working to design, prototype, and share a creative idea with the world - with no expectations other than cultivating a creative project, I invite you to join me on this journey.
As I learned about the intent of this program, to inspire women to prioritize their creative dreams, to move past the conceptual stages of ideas, and to hold space and accountability to actually produce tangible outcomes - I eagerly accepted the challenge.
I find it so easy to pursue the things that society prioritizes - be present and involved with my children’s activities to prove that I am a good mom; devote myself to an esteemed job or profession to demonstrate my earning capacity; read the business books and strategize strategic growth of my business to prove that I am capable of creating something successful - the list goes on.
I find it nearly impossible to prioritize the things that feel true, but don’t quite make sense to the outside world - spend time working towards a project out of a desire for passion and creation rather than money; carve out time for self-growth and reflection; devote time to continuing education for the sake of learning and growth.
When I learned about IGNITE, I jumped at the invitation to prioritize myself, to inspire my dreams, and to ignite the spark that I feel kindling deep beneath the surface of my outer self. If you feel inclined to do so, follow along with this journey of reflection, introspection, and creation. Perhaps you’ll find inspiration to pursue you, too!
